By utilizing electrolysis, ions such as Ca²⁺, Mg²⁺, and SiO₂ dissolved in the cooling water are reduced at the negative electrode and precipitated as CaO. This substance is then automatically discharged out of the circulation system, thereby preventing the formation of scale on the interior and exterior of the cooling device piping.
The treated water circulates and replenishes the scale-forming substances lost through electrolysis to maintain equilibrium. In doing so, it extracts scale-forming substances from existing deposits attached to the cooling tower, circulation pipes, and heat exchangers. This cycle discharges the scaling materials outside the water system.
